This will be a fun and exciting year, as students are introduced to High School Spanish. My goal is to create a positive, interactive classroom environment where students will learn how to communicate and understand the global world around them! I hope to provide insight from my Spanish heritage and share the love I have for the Spanish language and it's culture. Read on to find out everything you need to know about your class!
Dear Parents and Guardians: ¡Bienvenidos! My name is Johanna Serrano and I will be your child’s Spanish teacher this year. I have been a successful teacher for sixteen years. We are beginning an exciting journey together as your child learns more about the Spanish language and culture . The Spanish courses that I will be teaching this year are IB Spanish V and MYP. These courses are centered around a communicative approach that incorporates the four main language skills of speaking, listening, reading, and writing that are used in everyday life. Your child will receive Spanish instruction two to three times a week in 90 minutes sessions. In order to supplement the work we do in class, students will be required to complete homework assignments and periodic projects, so please check our Weebly page and Canvas periodically. Class will be spoken 100% in the target language.

Attendance Recovery Information
Hola chicos ,
Students should report directly to the cafeteria; they will have access to Chromebooks. Students are allowed to make up time with their content teacher or another teacher as well; please ensure it's recorded in the Google form (below). Also, students may not bank time; they may only start making up time after they've reached their 11th absence.
