Spanish Level 2 is a yearlong course designed to enhance knowledge of the Spanish language and Hispanic cultures. Through a focus on Approaches to Learning skills, students will develop the skills they need to communicate ideas and information effectively through speaking, reading, and writing. Through the MYP concepts of communication, culture, connections and creativity, students will develop insights into the features, processes and craft of language and the concept of culture.
Our goal is to enable students to become competent communicators in the Spanish language. The aims of the teaching and learning of MYP language acquisition are to:
gain proficiency in an additional language while supporting maintenance of their mother tongue and enhancing understanding of the English language
develop a respect for, and understanding of, diverse linguistic and cultural heritages
develop the student’s communication skills necessary for further language learning, and for study, work and leisure
enable the student to develop multi-literacy skills through the use of a range of learning tools, such as multimedia, in the various modes of communication
